The rumors circulating in Kalak for several weeks have just been confirmed today by Medicorp officials. The organization plans to expand its fleet of megaships with a state-of-the-art medical supercarrier named MHS-03 Larrey MedOps. This advanced vessel will be equipped with numerous tools for rescue and recovery operations, all coordinated by a “super AI”: A.L.T.A. (Automated Larrey Tactical Assistant).
A Critical Necessity
While Operation Nova Lux Galactica was a resounding success — particularly with Medicorp’s recent expansion near the Orion Nebula (read the article) — the organization is now facing an exponential increase in its presence within the Bubble (and, to a lesser extent, around Colonia). By early August, Medicorp reported activity in over 150 systems.
In Kalak, managing rescue coordination and logistics has become increasingly difficult. This morning, a senior Medicorp supervisor addressed the situation and unveiled the organization’s upcoming plans:
We can only be proud of Medicorp’s massive expansion across the Galaxy. Our values, our missions, our rescues have become a reference point for countless system governments who now call upon our expertise.
Not only did our rescuers distinguish themselves during the Thargoid War, but many of them also contributed to the colonization of new systems to establish research and rescue infrastructure. We are now virtually everywhere!
The demand has grown so much that our logistics are beginning to show their limits. It is our duty, without delay, to find new paths for development before the quality and efficiency of our services begin to decline. We need to remain at the top of our game, and we will act swiftly.
A full-scale 3D scanner projection of the Larrey (practitioner’s view, experimental phase) was revealed during the announcement.
The supervisor went on to announce two major initiatives:
We will do everything we can to build a new XXL-class carrier for our Medicorp operations. At this stage, we don’t yet know if we will keep or replace the Hippocrates with this new vessel, the MHS-03 Larrey MedOps. This ship bears the name of a very ancient surgeon, considered the father of emergency medicine
This vessel will be much larger than the Hippocrates or any other Medicorp ship and will offer numerous tools and features for rescue operations. Its management will also be enhanced, and the most dedicated rescuers in our organization will have the opportunity to take on active roles, such as managing the ship’s movements.
The titanic dimensions of the MHS-03 Larrey MedOps require far more centralized and sophisticated coordination than our other fleet carriers. For this reason, an Artificial Intelligence called A.L.T.A. will be integrated at all operational levels. We have been training her for several months, and here is the first message she addressed to rescuers back in May.
ALTA – Larrey
The other project focuses on the tools available to our brave rescuers:
We will completely overhaul the communication tools for rescuers: a new interface accessible directly from the cockpit, new systems, a module and ship exchange platform, as well as credit transfer options to improve and simplify the lives of our rescuers. We owe them that much! If everything goes as planned, these new tools will be available in experimental form as early as August 19th.
Finally, here is a message to all rescuers and pilots: Medicorp is entering a new era — larger, more ambitious, and more exciting than ever. We count on you, and we will surely need your help again to achieve our goals. But we know, as always, you will be there, with the same determination and dedication that commands respect!
For independent pilots, our arms are open. Join Medicorp and take part in the most important mission in this galaxy: saving lives!
