It took nearly a year of research, exploration and reconnaissance to find the place — to find Hypoae Ain UX-W b29-0.

Thousands of light-years from the familiar worlds of the human Bubble, on the route to the Zurara, CMDR SteFBlood, co-founder of Medicorp, has become the architect of a system destined to make its mark on the history of the research and rescue organisation, now present in more than 330 systems.

Medicorp officially announces today the launch of Phase IV of its NOVA LUX GALACTICA project.

Its objective is simple to state, but a considerable undertaking to achieve: To build the most distant forward base ever established by Medicorp.

And its location is no coincidence.

At the Gates of the Formidine Rift

The chosen system lies in the immediate vicinity of the Heart & Soul Nebulae, two immense nebulae located approximately 7,500 light-years from Kalak.

These nebulae occupy a unique position: they are among the last major beacons of light before the much darker and more sparsely populated reaches of the Formidine Rift. The two nebulae are also regarded as a natural gateway to this region of the galaxy. They are a common waypoint for pilots and explorers travelling towards the iconic Zurara.

A Destination Found After a Year of Research

The choice of the Hypoae Ain UX-W b29-0 system was not dictated solely by its historical location. Nearly a year of research was required to identify a world capable of meeting the ambitions of the fourth phase of NOVA LUX GALACTICA.

The system features, among other things, an aquatic world, rings offering mining opportunities, a variety of planetary environments, and, above all, a configuration that offers future inhabitants an exceptional view of the nebulae.

This detail is far from incidental.

Medicorp does not intend to build a mere refuelling station or a forward base for its research and rescue operations in this remote system. The NGO also wants to create a place where people will want to stay.

A place where pilots can repair a ship, catch their breath, meet fellow pilots and, perhaps, simply look at the stars.

A Haven for Rebuilding

For several years, thousands of pilots have taken part in the war against the Thargoids. Some returned with damaged ships. Others were rescued by Medicorp’s rescue teams, who actively participated in relief and rescue operations.

The fourth phase of NOVA LUX GALACTICA therefore carries an ambition different from those that came before it:

This time, Medicorp does not simply want to save pilots. The NGO also wants to offer them a place to rebuild.

The future complex, including a Dodec station in orbit around the aquatic world, will be designed to welcome passing explorers, tourists, crews undertaking long-distance missions, as well as veterans of the war against the Thargoids who wish to put some distance between themselves and the conflict zones.

A refuge far enough away for silence to become possible again.

A station where one can land without immediately having to leave again.

A world where one can admire magnificent nebulae rather than a radar screen or a mission board.

Forward Base and Haven

Since its launch in 3311, NOVA LUX GALACTICA has pursued a clear ambition: to gradually extend Medicorp’s network beyond traditional human space and transform remote territories into centres of rescue, research and hospitality.

• The first phase laid the foundations of the project, establishing Medicorp’s presence in a new system.
• The second enabled Medicorp to establish its first foothold with Piscium Sector CQ-Y b2 and Bishop Landing.
• The third, undertaken at the invitation of the Deep Space Network, led to the establishment of OASIS in the Orion region, with a clear focus on deep-space rescue and emergency response.
• The fourth phase now takes the project to an entirely new scale — and gives it a new meaning.

With this new system, Medicorp is no longer simply seeking to push back its frontiers: it is seeking to create a “haven.”

Medicorp’s Most Distant Project

More than 7,000 light-years from Kalak, logistics alone will represent a considerable challenge.

Every tonne of material will have to be transported with determination and courage. Every infrastructure project will have to be designed to operate far from the major industrial centres. Every planning error will take on a different significance in a region where the nearest assistance may be several days away.

But that is precisely what lies at the heart of NOVA LUX GALACTICA.

A Place Steeped in Memory

There is, finally, a more intimate dimension to this settlement.

Medicorp’s own history is closely intertwined with these remote regions of the galaxy and with the stories surrounding Alvinia de Messalina, the Formidine and the great expeditions that helped shape the imagination of its founders.

Establishing a Medicorp facility today in the vicinity of Heart & Soul is therefore more than a strategic decision. To some extent, it is also a return to its roots.

Where, once, crews ventured into the unknown in search of a hypothetical refuge for humanity, Medicorp now chooses to build one — in order to continue its mission: Research. Rescue. Welcome.

NOVA LUX GALACTICA — PHASE IV

Medicorp therefore officially confirms today the launch of Phase IV of NOVA LUX GALACTICA.

The project will be placed under the responsibility of CMDR SteFBlood, co-founder of Medicorp and now architect of the system.

Colonisation, transport and construction operations will be announced progressively and will mobilise the MHS Hippocrates.

In the coming weeks, thousands of tonnes of materials will have to cross deep space to give birth to this new settlement.

Medicorp therefore invites all of its rescue teams and volunteers who wish to do so to take part in this ambitious project.

A new frontier is opening for Medicorp.

And at the end of the journey, perhaps a place where we can finally land.
